An Arizona notary may charge up to:

• $10 per acknowledgment
• $10 per jurat
• $10 per oath or affirmation
• $10 per certified copy/page certified

These limits apply to traditional, electronic, and remote online notarizations (RON).

Arizona permits a mobile notary to charge a separate travel fee in addition to the notarization fee.

The law allows a notary to charge:

• Mileage/travel fees up to the state employee reimbursement rate
• Travel fees must generally be disclosed in advance
• Mileage is commonly charged round-trip

Arizona’s mileage reimbursement rate changes periodically and is commonly around:

• $0.625–$0.67 per mile round trip depending on the current state reimbursement schedule.

Arizona notaries:

• Cannot charge unauthorized “notarial service” fees
• Must post or disclose their fee schedule
• Must inform the signer before performing the notarization if fees will apply
• Cannot exceed the statutory limits for the notarial act itself

Arizona law mainly regulates the notarization itself. However, many mobile notaries separately charge for:

• Travel time
• Rush/same-day appointments
• After-hours appointments
• Printing large loan packages
• Scan-backs
• Courier/drop-off services
• Waiting time
• Remote online platform fees (as part of convenience/service arrangements)

A mobile notary appointment may legally look like this:

• 2 notarized signatures = $20
• 15-mile round trip at state mileage rate = about $9–$10
• After-hours convenience fee = separately charged

Total invoice could legally exceed $30.
